James Gunn’s Superman adds Saturday Night Live actor Beck Bennett

James Gunn's "Superman," is currently filming in Atlanta, with a star-studded lineup.

Beck Bennett, a veteran of "Saturday Night Live," has joined the cast of James Gunn's upcoming DC Studios movie, "Superman." The film is currently in production in Atlanta.

Bennett joins a star-studded cast led by David Corenswet, who will play Clark Kent/Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult is set to portray the villain Lex Luthor. The cast also includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet.

The movie will also feature several DC heroes. Edi Gathegi will play Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan is cast as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced will portray Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion is set to play Guy Gardner, and María Gabriela de Faría will take on the role of The Engineer.

According to sources, Bennett will portray one of the notable reporters at the Daily Planet. DC Studios has not provided any comment on his casting.

Bennett spent eight seasons on "SNL," joining in 2013 and departing in 2021. He has extensive voice work to his credit, including the 2023 film "Nimona" and Disney Channel's "Random Things." His most recent on-screen appearance was in "Unfrosted," a Netflix comedy co-written, directed, and starring Jerry Seinfeld.

"Superman" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
