Christina Applegate has opened up about her struggles with depression after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). The "Married with Children" actress shared her experiences during the latest episode of her podcast, MeSsy.

Applegate described her current mental state as "a real, fuck-it-all depression," adding, "It feels really fatalistic, it feels really ‘end of.’” She emphasized the severity of her condition, saying, “I’m trapped in this darkness right now that I haven’t felt in probably 20-something years. I don’t enjoy living. I don’t enjoy it. I don’t enjoy things anymore.”

Despite her challenges, Applegate mentioned that she had scheduled an appointment with her therapist, marking a significant step in addressing her mental health. She admitted that she had avoided therapy due to a fear of breaking down emotionally, stating that she had coped with her diagnosis through self-deprecation to make others more comfortable.

In addition to discussing her mental health, Applegate revealed that she had declined an opportunity to join the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" about ten years ago. She recounted the story on her podcast, saying, “I was asked to be a Housewife for Beverly Hills.” Applegate noted that she later became friends with the show's executive producer, who confirmed that she was considered for the role. Reflecting on the missed opportunity, she recalled the producer's candid assessment: “It would’ve been the most boring s— I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Applegate, who was diagnosed with MS in 2021, continues to share her journey and insights on her podcast, offering a candid look into her life and challenges.
