Since Princess Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis in March, Prince William has been diligently carrying out royal engagements. During a recent visit to St. Mary's Community Hospital, he assured well-wishers that Kate is "doing well" and their children are envious of his trip to Isles of Scilly.

Kate's recovery seems to be progressing well, as she's been spotted out and about with family. Insiders revealed to Us Weekly that she's an active parent, deeply involved with her children. However, her return to official duties remains uncertain, with reports suggesting it could be in the fall or even next year.

While Kate has been briefed on a recent report by her early years foundation, Kensington Palace clarified that it doesn't signal her return to work. She won't be attending rehearsals for the Trooping the Colour ceremony either. The Palace emphasised that Kate needs time and privacy to recover fully.

Her team is reevaluating her future role, suggesting it may differ from her previous engagements. The recent announcement of a snap general election in the UK has led to a postponement of some royal events, offering Kate and William more time together. This unexpected break has reportedly strengthened their bond.

The family of five has been primarily residing at Anmer Hall, their Norfolk summer home. The spacious house provides ample space for the children to play, and the family enjoys spending time together outdoors.

While Kate focuses on her recovery, she's been keeping busy with cooking and baking, one of her favourite activities. Her mother, Carole Middleton, and sister, Pippa, are a constant source of support.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes the public will be updated on Kate's return date if she remains sidelined into the fall. He emphasises the importance of clear communication to avoid speculation.

When Kate returns, it will be based on medical advice, and her workload will be carefully managed. The experience has prompted reflection on her royal role, and her future involvement may look different. The focus remains on her health and well-being as she navigates this challenging time.
