King Charles and Queen Camilla made an unexpected appearance at the 2024 Epsom Derby this afternoon to enjoy some horse racing.

According to the Daily Express, the King and the Queen attended to watch their filly, Treasure, compete in the Betfred Oaks, a horse bred by the late monarch.

Currently, bookmakers place Treasure in eighth place with odds ranging from 18/1 to 26/1.

Camilla donned a pale blue and white dress by Bruce Oldfield and a coordinating trilby by Philip Treacy, while King Charles was dressed in a grey suit with a lilac tie and pocket square.

Both were appropriately attired for the rainy weather, wearing raincoats.

The Epsom Derby, a highlight of the Flat season, was a favorite of the late Queen Elizabeth, who frequently attended.

The royal couple was welcomed by their racing adviser, John Warren, and met senior racecourse executives before heading to the royal box.

The last royal horse to win a British classic was Dunfermline in 1977.

Queen Elizabeth II had five classic wins, starting with Carrozza in 1957.

Charles and Camilla enjoyed success last year with Desert Hero at Royal Ascot.

They also presented a trophy for the Holland Cooper Coronation Cup, won by Luxembourg, ridden by Ryan Moore.
