The majority of K-pop girl group Kep1er's members have confirmed contract extensions with their agencies. However, Mashiro Sakamoto and Kang Yeseo have announced their decision to depart after completing the upcoming schedule.

WAKEONE and SWING Entertainment revealed on May 30 that Yujin, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, and Youngeun of Kep1er have decided to renew their contracts and extend their group activities and are scheduled to make a comeback on June 3rd.

The announcement also conveyed, much to the disappointment of fans, that after discussions, Mashiro and Yeseo have decided to conclude their group activities following their upcoming concert.

The companies expressed appreciation for the two members and pledged to assist them in their future pursuits. Additionally, they vowed to foster the musical development of every Kep1er member and promote their albums, from the first to the latest, both domestically and internationally, as a nine-member group.

Kep1er was formed in 2021 during the K-pop reality survival show "Girls Planet 999". The group made its debut in January 2022 with its first EP, “First Impact”, and the main track, “Wa Da Da”.
