Police have arrested a serial killer who was allegedly involved in the cases of abduction and gruesome murder of two citizens, including a woman, in Jhelum.

According to sources, Mangala Cantt police station received information that Iftikharul Hasan left his house for Mirpur and went missing. The Jhelum DPO registered a case of abduction of a missing person and entrusted the special task of recovering the hostage to Mangla Cantt police station. The Mangala Cantt police arrested Muhammad Rehman with the help of modern technology in a successful operation.

The accused, during interrogation, revealed that he killed abductee Iftikharul Hasan with a hammer and buried the body in the house. Following the disclosure, the body of the victim was recovered from the living room of the accused.

According to DPO Jhelum, it was discovered during the investigation that the accused had kidnapped, raped and killed a woman, Nasreen Akhtar, within the limits of the City police station.

A team from the City police station also recovered the body of the deceased from the living room of the house of the accused. The accused is already on record in five cases, including killing a woman and during a burglary.
