Riley Keough recently opened up about the profound impact filming "Mad Max: Fury Road" had on her life, particularly because it's where she met her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen.

During a May 23 episode of SiriusXM's"The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham," Keough described the intense filming experience, recalling the feeling of being immersed in the post-apocalyptic world.

She shared how the experience was both challenging and rewarding, stating, "It was one of the most beautiful and challenging and amazing, incredible experiences of my life, and all of us who were there, it was so life-changing."

Keough also revealed that meeting her husband, an Australian stuntman who worked on both "Fury Road" and the upcoming prequel "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," made the experience "extra life-changing."

Reflecting on the extreme conditions, Keough humorously remarked, "The dust was like—I can definitely still taste it in my mouth. It was traumatic." She then shared her husband's insights about the difference in filming approaches between the two movies, with "Furiosa" being a more structured experience compared to the immersive chaos of "Fury Road."

Keough and Smith-Petersen's love story began during reshoots in Australia, where they bonded over shared adventures and even got matching tattoos. In a 2022 essay for British Vogue, Keough recounted the magical week that solidified their connection.

In February 2015, Keough married Smith-Petersen in Napa, California, having announced their engagement the previous year. The couple now share a daughter, Tupelo Storm, born in 2022. Keough's experience on "Mad Max: Fury Road" not only shaped her career but also led her to find love and create a family.
