Kensington Palace has provided an update on Kate Middleton

Kensington Palace shares update on Kate Middleton's health and work

In March, Kate Middleton revealed her diagnosis with an unspecified form of cancer and that she is undergoing medical treatment, including preventative chemotherapy.

She has since prioritized her health and has been advised to take time off from her public duties. “The princess is not expected to return to work until it’s cleared by her medical team,” a spokesperson told the BBC, emphasizing that “Early childhood will continue to be central to her public work.”

Kate’s commitment to early childhood development is evident through her involvement with the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. Recently, the task force released a report urging businesses to invest more in children’s early years by supporting employees with flexible working hours and childcare assistance. Although Kate has been kept informed about the report and the foundation’s progress, she remains on medical leave.

Prince William has provided updates on his wife's condition, stating that she is doing “well” amidst her treatment. In April, during a walkabout following an engagement, he reassured a member of the public about Kate’s health, saying, “All doing well ― thank you. Yes, we’re doing well.”

Since January, when Kate disclosed that she had undergone major abdominal surgery and that cancer was found post-operation, she has sought privacy for herself, Prince William, and their three children. The Wales family chose to forgo the traditional Easter Sunday service to spend private time together, reflecting Kate’s advocacy for present parenting.

While these updates provide some insight into Kate’s ongoing involvement with her initiatives, they do not indicate an imminent return to her public duties. The palace has been clear that Kate needs time and privacy to recover fully.
