Daniel Radcliffe feels lucky in transition from child star to Broadway legend

Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who rose to fame as Harry Potter, recently shared his gratitude for the smooth transition he experienced from child star to accomplished Broadway actor. 

In an interview with Page Six at the Drama League Awards, Radcliffe expressed his appreciation for the opportunities he was given, such as starring in stage productions like "Equus" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." These experiences allowed him to nurture his passion for acting and solidify his career path.

Radcliffe, now 36, emphasised his consistent love for acting throughout his journey, from his early days as Harry Potter to his current endeavours on Broadway. He acknowledged that not all child actors are as fortunate to find fulfilment in their careers as they grow older.

The English actor is currently nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in the Stephen Sondheim revival, "Merrily We Roll Along." He revealed that he dedicated months to practising the notoriously challenging song "Franklin Shepard, Inc.," even jokingly suggesting that his longtime girlfriend, Erin Darke, could probably step in for him if needed.

Radcliffe and Darke, who met on the set of "Kill Your Darlings" in 2012, welcomed their first child in April 2023. The couple's relationship has been a constant source of support for Radcliffe throughout his career.
