
A violent clash between two sub-tribes of Teghani tribe in Garhi Tegho, Shikarpur district, erupted on Sunday where a bandit, carrying head money worth Rs.2 million was shot dead.
Police claimed that SP Teghani was also killed in a raid which followed the armed fighting between the groups which utilised automatic rifles and rocket launchers.
A passerby also lost his life due to clash while four persons including three women were injured.
Garhi Tegho is a riverbed area which is notorious for being a safe heaven for dacoits of Katcha. Armed fight occurred between Bailo Teghani and Bitto Teghani groups.
The latter has been accused of kidnapping a woman and a man of Bailo Teghani sub-tribe. Among casualties was a young man, Amjad Teghani, who lived in village Huzoor Bux Teghani.
Exchange of firing between two sides reportedly continued for a few hours. When police reached the area in their armoured personnel vehicles, both sides reportedly opened fire on cops and later managed to escape.
In addition to SP Teghani's demise, one injured individual belonged to the Bailo Teghani group, while three injured women, reportedly struck by a launcher, were associated with Bitto Teghanis.
