Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired the first meeting of the reform committee, tasked with formulating effective strategies and a timeframe for the improvement of governance.

The meeting decided to introduce AI-enabled technology to account for ghost and absentee employees in the province. The chief minister directed the information technology department to prepare a pilot project, notwithstanding the decision to enlist experts from the private sector to facilitate CMDU.

He emphasised that the experts involved in the committee should offer recommendations for improving the relevant sectors and governance, adding that the application of technology should begin with BMC, Civil Sandeman Hospital, and the University of Balochistan.

He maintained that the AI system would be implemented in a phased manner across the province, observing that people were suffering due to governance weaknesses. The chief minister observed the existing lack of trust between the people and government departments, stressing the imperative to rebuild trust in the state.
