PTI rally demands release of Imran Khan

Announces grand gathering at Bagh-e-Jinnah on April 28

KARACHI:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged a rally in district east, calling for the release of party’s founder and chairman, Imran Khan. Rally also protested against the alleged theft of PTI's mandate in the recent general elections.

The rally started from Hakim Saeed Ground on University Road near Baitul Mukarram Masjid, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and reached Shahrah-e-Quaidin after passing through various roads where more and more people joined in.

Prominent PTI leaders, including Haleem Adil Sheikh, Raja Azhar, and other key figures including Jamal Siddiqui, Arslan Khalid, Fahim Khan, Amjad Jah, Nazirullah Mehsud, Waqas Khan, Agha Arslan, Sarina Adnan, Aftab Jahangir, led the rally.

Representatives from various wings of PTI, including the Insaf Lawyers Wing, Women Wing, Insaf Youth Wing, and Insaf Student Federation, also joined the rally. They vociferously expressed their demands for Imran’s release and condemned the ‘theft’ of the PTI mandate. They also called for independence of the judiciary in the country.

Addressing the rally, Haleem Adil Sheikh reiterated the demand for Imran Khan’s release and warned the government to heed the youth's discontent. He stressed the importance of respecting the constitutional right to protest and declared the upcoming rally planned at Bagh-e-Jinnah on April 28, urging one million people to join and voice against mandate theft.

PTI leader Raja Azhar confiemd the upcoming grand gathering in Karachi on April 28 and affirmed the peaceful nature of PTI workers. He emphasised that the rally faced no roadblocks or interruptions.

The event concluded with assurances from PTI leaders of a continued campaign until the party’s founder is released and the alleged stolen mandate is returned. They expressed confidence in Imran’s eventual freedom and his return to national leadership.
