KARACHI:

Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) General Secretary, Iqbal Hashmi, has called upon the government to take decisive action or step down in the face of escalating unrest in Karachi.

Hashmi emphasised the need of allowing citizens to carry weapons in self-defence. Hashmi criticised the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), accusing it of transforming Karachi into an area of lawlessness akin to a wilderness, where stray dogs and street criminals roam freel.

Hashmi warned of dire consequences if the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi continues, stressing that such instability would drive away the business community. Hashmi also criticised the influx of non-locals who, he claimed, exploited Karachi's resources without contributing to its welfare.
