Although Ozempic was originally intended to assist individuals dealing with obesity or related health issues such as high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes, the injectable drug has recently gained popularity among celebrities seeking to manage their weight.

Rebel Wilson, the actress from "Pitch Perfect", has shared her experience with the controversial drug, in a recent interview with the Sunday Times.

The actress from "Pitch Perfect" has been immersed in preparations for the April launch of her memoir, "Rebel Rising," resulting in a flurry of interviews delving into the book's intriguing chapters.

“Someone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good”, Wilson, 44, said.

The Pitch Perfect star explained that she embarked on her weight loss journey after her fertility doctor suggested that shedding pounds could improve her chances of IVF success.

“Basically no one apart from my mom wanted me to lose weight,” Wilson told the magazine. “People thought I’d lose my pigeonhole in my career, playing the fat funny character, and they wanted me to continue in that.”

Wilson, who welcomed her daughter Royce via surrogate in November 2022, committed herself to a self-proclaimed "year of health," incorporating regular walks and adopting a diet rich in protein and low in sugar.

During this process, she acknowledged her complex emotional connection with food, influenced by societal standards of beauty perpetuated by the media and Hollywood.

“I feel strongly that young women shouldn’t try to obsess over looking like Victoria’s Secret models — they should just look like themselves,” She emphasised. “I know that my relationship with food is complicated.”

Wilson reflects further on her weight loss journey in her memoir, "Rebel Rising."
