Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, cleared in Australian assault case

Taylor's father, Scott Swift will not face charges following an alleged altercation with a photographer in Australia.

Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, will not face charges following an alleged altercation with a photographer in Australia. 

New South Wales police confirmed to Billboard on March 26 that they've closed the investigation, resulting in "no further police action" against Scott.

The incident occurred in late February at Neutral Bay Wharf in Sydney. Photographer Ben McDonald filed a complaint alleging Scott Swift assaulted him as the Swift family was leaving a yacht. 

The altercation happened after Taylor Swift's final Eras Tour concert in Sydney.

Police stated that officers “conducted an investigation following a report of an assault”, concluding with no charges filed.

At the time of the incident, Swift's representatives responded, stating that “two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”

Travis Kelce was also there for Taylor’s Eras Tour leg of Australia. Swift has since continued her Eras Tour with performances in Singapore and upcoming shows in Europe. She's currently preparing for the release of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, on April 19.
