PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif on Friday urged the masses to take a stroll down memory lane, asking them to compare the past with the present and asking, "Do people not remember my era?"

Addressing a rally in Burewala, the former premier, who is canvassing for his fourth bid for power, asked, "Do people not remember my era?"

The former prime minister, with a touch of nostalgia, urged the people to recall the “the good old days” when vegetables cost a mere Rs10 per kg and bread was priced at just Rs4.

"Do you recall the Nawaz era, where load shedding was just a memory, and gas was practically a giveaway? Don't you miss that?" he further asked.

Nawaz used the term ‘tabdeeli’ to allude to the widely recognised slogan of the former ruling party PTI which had pledged to usher in transformative "change" across the nation following their victory in the 2018 elections.

However, the party, which has been embroiled in controversy since the events of May 9, faced criticism for failing to fulfil the promises it had made to the people.

Lamenting the inflations and economic decline, Nawaz highlighted the stark differences between his tenure and the present and recalled a time when the electricity bill was a mere Rs500, contrasting it with the current staggering Rs20,000.

"Do people not remember the era of Nawaz Sharif when we abolished load shedding and gas was cheap?" he posed the question again, urging the crowd to ponder, "Don't you want him to come back?"

He expressed frustration over a conspiracy by five judges that brought an end to his government. He lamented how, when no wrongdoing was found, his government was terminated for the strange reason of not accepting a salary from his son, leading to his imprisonment.

Expressing concerns about the economic downturn, he noted the drastic rise in fertiliser prices from Rs2400 during his time to the current Rs14000.

He bemoaned, "Where did they take Pakistan?" referring to the astronomical increase in the cost of goods like tractors, once priced at Rs900,000, now available for a staggering Rs3,800,000.

Highlighting the need for change, Nawaz declared, "But God willing, with your help, we will save Pakistan from inflation, bringing about an era where employment will be available in every home."

He promised ambitious projects, including the construction of motorways, highways, and the development of a top-notch airport in the area.

The PML-N supreme leader expressed hope for a positive change with the support of the people. He pledged, "Insha'Allah, with your assistance, we will rescue Pakistan from inflation.

We will bring an era where employment is abundant, motorways and highways are constructed.”He also hinted at the prospect of establishing a state-of-the-art airport in the Burewala region.
