LAHORE:

The PML-N Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz rejected on Thursday the criticism of the party over a delay in the announcement of the election manifesto and urged the masses to use their right to vote wisely on February 8.

Maryam, who is contesting the polls for NA-19, Lahore, told party supporters in the Singh Pura area of the provincial capital that the party Quaid Nawaz Sharif had the sole agenda of welfare of the common man.

In indirect reference to the PPP, she said there were political parties currently in Punjab which had been in power for 15 years in a province but could not name even 15 projects that it had started whereas she could mention 1,500 schemes launched by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

In veiled reference to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, she said that a person had claimed that Nawaz had not announced his party’s manifesto. She added that Nawaz had always followed his party’s manifesto based on the welfare of the common man.

She said her father had even launched development projects in a province from where he did not receive its people’s mandate. “If the Almighty helped him come back to power, he would reduce the power tariff, end gas load shedding and give relief to the people by bringing down inflation,” she added.

Addressing her rally in Lahore, Maryam said NA-119 was just like her home and today she was visiting her constituency to talk with its residents. “We will not leave this country. My children will stay here,” she concluded.
