Punjab Arts Council reaches six more districts

Renowned artistes from  the Indian Punjabi film  industry, including actors Harish Verma, Sharan  Kaur, Jaskiran Gul, Chandrakamboj, Rajwinder and  Baljeet  Singh,  visited  Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.

A delegation including  actor  Ruby  Anam,  Qaiser  Piya,  Sardar Kamal,  Azhar   Butt, Asif Iqbal, Shahid  Khan and Shajar Abbas  warmly welcomed their  counterparts  in  a  joyous  exchange of smiles and  affection.

In a media interaction,  actor Harish Verma ex- pressed his gratitude, stating,  “I  am  lucky  to  have   come  here  today.  Coming  to Kartarpur will always re- main in our memories.” Indian actress Sharan  Kaur echoed the senti- ment, calling her first visit  to Kartarpur a dreamlike experience.

Qaiser Piya ex- pressed  a  hopeful  prayer   for future meetings, while  Ruby Anam emphasized the  importance of maintaining  the chain of love. The camaraderie continued  as the artists attended a prestigious premiere show of the  film drama “Ale” in Lahore  on January 19. Notable fig- ures from the Pakistani  film industry, including  Ruby Anam and Qaiser Pia,  participated  in  the  event,   engaging  with  fans  while   watching the film.

The two-day Thinkfest held  at the Alhamra Art Council  Lahore has concluded, leaving an indelible mark on the  city’s literary landscape. The  event brought together a di- verse array of participants,  including  politicians,  analysts, writers, intellectuals,  and  artists,  fostering a vibrant atmosphere of scholarly discourse. The Thinkfest  provided a unique platform  for educational encounters  and debates, creating a  memorable  experience  for   all involved.

In a positive development  for the showbiz circles,  the Punjab Arts Council  Department of Information  and Culture Punjab has extended  its  scope  to  six  additional districts.  Arts councils  have  been  established  in  Wahari,  Jhang,   Muzaffargarh, Mianwali,   Chakwal,  and  Rahim  Yar   Khan,  ensuring  a  broader   reach  for  cultural  activi- ties. Syed Bilal Haider, the  Executive Director of Punjab  Arts  Council,  emphasized  the importance of promoting  art and culture for the overall  well-being of society.

A five-member delegation  led by the Cultural Attaché  of the French Embassy,  Dylan Gillard, visited prominent cultural landmarks in  Lahore, including Alhamra  Art Museum, Cultural  Complex, and Gaddafi  Stadium.  Discussions  focused  on  the  rich  tapestry  of  art  and culture,  with  Alhamra officers showcasing  works  by  world renowned artists, receiving appreciation from the French delegation.

Singer Sahir Ali Baga and  Ukrainian singer-actress  Kamaliya released their  Punjabi remix song “Lathe  Di Chadar” worldwide, gar- nering  attention  globally,   including in Pakistan. The  collaboration was celebrated  during  a  ceremony  where  both artists performed. Auditions for the upcoming Lollywood movie “Mango  Jatt”  took  place  in  Lahore, attracting over twenty children and young artists.

The  auditions were graced by the  presence  of  model  actress  Hareem  Farooq,  who  appreciated  the  budding  talent as they showcased their  roles and dialogues in front  of the camera. A  ceremony  at  Alhamra  Hall celebrated the 76th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and  Turkey. The event featured  cultural activities and hon- ored Turkish Urdu translator  Dr Furqan Hameed.
