Balochistan to install 8,000 CCTV cameras
The Balochistan government has decided to install 8,000 CCTV cameras to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the upcoming general elections in the province. This decision was made at a high-level meeting convened at the CM Secretariat in Quetta on Friday.
Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by provincial administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and senior police officials.
During the deliberations, crucial decisions were made to enhance security measures at the most sensitive polling stations across the province.
The installation of 8,000 CCTV cameras was approved to monitor these key locations closely, aimed at ensuring transparency and impartiality during the electoral process.
Commending the strides achieved in the preparations for upcoming elections, commissioners and deputy commissioners provided a comprehensive briefing to the caretaker chief minister. They conveyed contentment with the ongoing initiatives and underscored the critical importance of concluding all arrangements to ensure transparent and impartial elections across Balochistan.

Recognizing the significance of a secure and punctual delivery of election materials, the meeting outlined strategic plans. This includes deploying helicopters for transportation to remote and hard-to-reach areas, while also ensuring the provision of heavy machinery in districts susceptible to snowfall, such as Ziarat and other cold regions.
The caretaker chief minister underscored the importance of immediate action on proposed measures to address the shortage of security personnel, emphasizing the creation of a conducive environment that addresses concerns raised by candidates and citizens.
He urged administrative officers to formulate comprehensive plans tailored to regional conditions, focusing on the restoration of peace and security.
Ensuring continuous coordination among law enforcement agencies, the chief minister highlighted the proactive steps being taken daily to resolve challenges and difficulties. Emphasizing the commitment to a peaceful election process, he directed officials to address concerns promptly, fostering an environment where voters can cast their ballots without fear.
As Balochistan gears up for the upcoming elections, the government’s comprehensive approach and strategic decisions aim to instill confidence in the electoral process, prioritizing security and transparency at every step.
Domki on Friday also visited the Balochistan Educational Endowment Fund (BEEF) Secretariat.
He also distributed scholarship cheques to students studying in various educational institutions.
