The Balochistan government has decided to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at all sensitive polling stations in collaboration with Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps across the province for the upcoming general elections.
This decision was taken during the fifth meeting of the interim provincial cabinet chaired by caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki on Monday evening.
Domki led a crucial meeting to assess the law and order situation, focusing on preparations for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Stressing transparency and impartiality, Domki highlighted initiatives like installing CCTV cameras at sensitive polling stations.

The provincial cabinet thoroughly discussed all ways and means to provide effective security to all candidates and voters on the eve of the upcoming general elections in the country and extended the deployment period of Frontier Corps by six months to maintain law and order situation in the province.
A collaborative control room, jointly managed by the Election Commission and the provincial government, will oversee election proceedings.
The chief minister affirmed full cooperation with the Election Commission.
To boost monitoring, joint rooms will be established in all districts, including Quetta.
Additional Home Chief Secretary Zahid Saleem and Balochistan inspector general of police briefed the participants.
Balochistan, with 5,067 planned polling stations in 18 districts, aims for a secure election.
