An inspector of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh police has been compulsorily retired and four other policemen have been dismissed from service for robbing the residence of a retired police officer in Baldia Town.

As per details, a CTD team conducted a raid on the house of retired police officer Bashir Hussain in Baldia Town, within the jurisdiction of Saeedabad police station, on November 29.

During the raid, they reportedly tortured his son and made off with a nine mm pistol, gold, and Rs200,000 in cash from the home.

The CTD high-ups sought a written explanation from the CTD personnel implicated in the alleged robbery, but they failed to explain their act within the stipulated time.

Subsequently, on Friday, CTD DIG Asif Ijaz Shaikh took action by compulsorily retiring Inspector Syed Muhammad Sarfaraz and dismissing four other policemen from service.

The sacked officers include head constable Imran Ali, and constables Raja Umair, Saadat Marwat, and Sikandar Khan.

Official notifications have been issued in this regard, indicating that a case of robbery has been registered against the CTD officials who were compulsorily retired and dismissed from their jobs.
