Three die in highway pile-up

It took rescuers around an hour to reach spot of accident retrieve the dead, injured

HYDERABAD:

An ambulance shifting a two-year-old girl from Larkana to Karachi met a fatal accident on the Indus Highway in Jamshoro district on Monday, claiming three lives including that of the child, her mother and the ambulance driver.

The police said a truck collided with the ambulance as another vehicle, a car, rammed into those vehicles. Four persons in the car sustained injuries and those in the ambulance were killed. The deceased have been identified as two years old Uroosa Fatima, daughter of Riaz Khaskheli, 55 years old Panah Khaskheli, wife of Muhamamd Ameen Khaskheli, and the ambulance driver Javed Ali Wagan.

The local people told the media that it took the rescuers around an hour to reach the spot of the accident and retrieve the dead and injured who were shifted to Manjhand taluka hospital. The injured were later referred to Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad.
