Literati bid farewell to 2023 in novel way

The city witnessed a heartwarming tradition as its literati bid farewell to the year by showering rose petals into the Indus River. The gesture symbolised their collective hope for a prosperous and joyful new year, particularly for the region of Sindh.

It also symbolises that the flow of time is like that of the river, never turning back and moving in same direction.

A multitude of poets, writers, and intellectuals hailing from Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and other cities in Sindh congregated at the Kotri Barrage where they marked the conclusion of 2023 by showering rose petals into the flowing waters of the Indus, bidding adieu to the last sunset of the year.

They offered prayers to the Almighty, expressing their wishes for the upcoming year to be a period of prosperity, peace, and development for the entire country, with a special focus on Sindh.
