Couples protest for justice, protection
In a compelling demonstration of their rights, a couple from Sanghar, who wedded by choice, staged a protest seeking protection. Shazia Magsi, wife of Mumtaz Samu from Chak no.57, Sanghar, voiced her grievances in front of the Hyderabad Press Club, alleging that her family, irate about her independent choice, had falsely accused her husband of abduction.
Shazia, who legally married Mumtaz Samu of Gujri Stop on December 16th with the approval of the Hyderabad court, vehemently asserted her free will in the marriage. She called for the dismissal of the fabricated abduction case and appealed for security for both herself and her husband. Simultaneously, Shirimati Lal Kulhi, a resident of Ghanghra Mori in the jurisdiction of the Hosri police station, staged a protest at the Hyderabad Press Club with her children.

She expressed distress over the disappearance of her husband, Kanji Thakur, and her brother-in-law, Krishan Thakur. Accusing the Hosri police of arresting them, Lal Kulhi claimed that the authorities were uncooperative and evasive about the details of their detention, alleging that they had mysteriously vanished. She further accused the police of demanding a substantial bribe for their release and issuing threats of filing false cases if the amount wasn't paid.
Lal Kulhi expressed genuine concern about the safety of her family members, fearing that a staged police encounter might endanger their lives. She urged higher-ranking police officials to intervene, take action against the Hosri police, and secure the release of her husband and brother-in-law.
