55 terrorists killed in 195 IBOs in the district

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Justice (retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, and Governor Haji Ghulam Ali visited DI Khan on Wednesday and jointly chaired a meeting to address the law and order situation in the district. Chief Secretary Nadim Aslam Chaudhry and IGP Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur accompanied them.

The meeting extensively reviewed the law and order scenario, focusing on the terrorist attack in DI Khan the previous day. Authorities provided detailed briefings on the overall security situation and the incident, outlining proposed action plans by law enforcement agencies to maintain order.

During the discussion, it was revealed that in 2023, the police and relevant agencies conducted 194 intelligence-based operations (IBOs), resulting in the elimination of 55 terrorists and the arrest of 54 others.

The caretaker chief minister strongly condemned the terrorist incident, labeling it an inhumane and heinous act. He emphasized that targeting security forces will not demoralize them or the nation, expressing pride in the sacrifices made by the army. The CM asserted the nation’s unwavering support for security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Governor Ghulam Ali, speaking at the meeting, praised the army’s courageous response to terrorist acts, asserting that terrorists will never succeed in their nefarious designs. He reiterated the nation’s solidarity with the forces.

Later, accompanied by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar, they visited CMH DI Khan to meet with security personnel injured in the terrorist attack. They inquired about their health and offered prayers for their speedy recovery. Earlier, the ISPR stated that the security forces killed 27 terrorists in various IBOs, conducted to contain the increased activities of terrorists in DI Khan.

“The night of Dec 11 and 12 witnessed heightened activities in Dera Ismail Khan district, wherein a total of twenty-seven terrorists were sent to hell during various operations.”
