Skin allergies rise in winter

Dryness during winter contributes to increase in conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, itching, and fungal infections

KARACHI:

Jinnah Hospital Dermatology Department Head, Dr Behram Khoso has reported a concerning uptick in cases of skin diseases during the winter season.

The Outpatient Department (OPD) of the hospital has so far recorded 30 to 35 cases of skin diseases. Sharing his observation with The Express Tribune on Saturday, Dr Khoso highlighted that the winter season tends to exacerbate skin issues. The prevalent dryness during the winter contributes to an increase in conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, itching, and fungal infections.
