Bashiruddin Sialvi died on the spot after head-on collision near 85-Jhal

SARGODHA:

Bashiruddin Sialvi, a religious scholar from Jhang, died in a car accident near 85-Jhal in Sargodha.

A police spokesman, Abid Hussain, said that religious scholar Bashiruddin Sialvi, along with his wife, a son, a daughter and one more relative, had travelled to Sargodha from Jhang to attend a wedding ceremony.

After attending the wedding ceremony, the family had been on their way to Sillanwali when a car coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with their car near 85-Jhal.

Due to the impact of the collision, Bashiruddin Sialvi, and a man in the other car, Hasnain, died on the spot while Sialvi’s wife, Shamim, their daughter Urwa and son Ashraf, and another person, Abu Bakar, sustained serious injuries.

Two other persons, Ihtesham and Zulfiqar, who had been travelling in the other car, also sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital.

The police spokesman said that the three people in the other car had been heading to Lahore. Upon receiving information about the accident, contingents from Jhal Chakkian Police Station and Factory Area Police Station, along with the rescue personnel, arrived on the spot.

The rescue personnel shifted the injured and the bodies to the DHQ Hospital.

Later, the police handed over the bodies to the relatives after necessary legal proceedings.

According to hospital sources, the condition of two of the injured was critical.

Police spokesman Abid Hussain said that the police had opened their investigation into the accident.

Trailer accident

Meanwhile, at least two people were killed when a trailer hit a van on Mianwali Road, Khanpur Bagga Sher in Muzaffargarh on Monday. The accident was said to have been caused due to over-speeding.

An ambulance from a nearby station situated at Khanpur Bagga Sher arrived at the scene of the accident and took out the bodies of the two victims by cutting off the front part of the van.

Rescue staff shifted the bodies to their homes instead of the hospital upon resistance by their family.
