12 killed in Punjab road crashes

Majority of RTCs, involves 75 percent of motorbikes

LAHORE:

At least 12 people were killed and 1,353 were injured in 1,228 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) reported across all 37 districts of Punjab during the past 24 hours.

Of the injured, 627 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 726 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.

The majority of RTCs, 75 percent, involved motorbikes.

Further analysis showed those 668 drivers, 45 underage drivers, 176 pedestrians and 521 passengers were among the victims of RTCs.

The statistics show that 245 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 278 victims.
