Unidentified motorcyclists shot dead a police official in Khyber-Paktunkhwa's Bannu district on Wednesday.
The policeman, identified as Ashraf Khan, was enroute for polio duty on Mandan road when he was attacked.
The assailants fled the scene soon after the attack and an investigation was initiated by local law enforcement.
The body of the police official was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Bannu.

Earlier, two civilians lost their lives while 10 others, including three security forces personnel, were injured in a suicide attack in Bannu’s Bakka Khel area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

This incident constitutes the fourth attack on police personnel within a 10-day span.
