A large number of the party supporters had gathered in the area but the district administration had already imposed Section 144 in the district due to security threats and law and order situation under which more than five people could not gather in one place.
The injured had been identified as Shahalam who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition due to a gunshot wound. “The clash led to the closure of all roads as party workers started protesting against police high handedness which resulted in a severe traffic jam,” locals said, adding that a large contingent of police was deployed in the area to stop any untoward incident.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan's lawyer Marwat had addressed the workers' convention. Later, a case under PPC 188 was registered against Marwat, former MPA Hakeem and others in connection with the clash with the police during the workers' convention.
