Pindi court revokes speeding driver's bail
Accused was unable to present her driving licence, after which the court rejected her interim bail

Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi, Khalid Wazir, has dismissed the interim bail of female driver N*, who allegedly ran over two motorcyclists while driving at excessive speed. Following the court's decision, the ladies police arrested the accused in the courtroom and shifted her to the police station.
The accused failed to produce a valid driving licence before the court. N* had obtained interim bail from a local court on January 21. In her bail application, she maintained that she was completely innocent, had no connection with the accident, and had been falsely implicated in the case.
During the hearing, the accused was unable to present her driving licence, after which the court rejected her interim bail. The court observed that, according to the police investigation, the accused was fully involved in the accident, which resulted in the loss of three precious lives due to her negligence and recklessness. The court also noted her failure to produce a driving licence.
Immediately after the bail cancellation, New Town police arrested the accused.
It is worth mentioning that on January 19, near Rehmanabad on Murree Road, the accused allegedly crossed the road divider at high speed and ran over motorcyclists Muhammad Zohaib and Rizwan Ali coming from the opposite direction. Muhammad Muzammil and Munir Khan were also seriously injured in the incident. Muhammad Muzammil later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
