One killed, two hurt in campus shooting
Clash between rival groups spills outside Abbottabad University

A clash between student groups at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology left one student dead and two others injured on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as a leader of the Insaf Students Federation.
According to reports, an altercation broke out between two groups of students from the Management Sciences and Mathematics departments. The verbal dispute quickly escalated into a physical fight, with students on both sides exchanging punches and kicks.
Rather than resolving the matter on campus, university administration and security personnel escorted the students out of the premises. However, as soon as the two groups exited the main gate, violence erupted again and gunfire was opened.
As a result, Abdullah, son of Khanzada and a resident of Haripur, was shot dead at the scene. Two other students, Ahsan, son of Asif, and Rehan, son of Abdul Shakoor, both residents of Abbottabad, sustained injuries.
The injured students were shifted to a hospital. Meanwhile, the family of the deceased placed the body at Havellian Do-Raha on the Karakoram Highway (Shahrah-e-Resham) and staged a protest, causing long queues of traffic on both sides of the road.
The protest ended after police assured the family that the suspects would be arrested. As of the time of filing this report, no arrests had been made.
