HARIPUR:

A nine-year-old boy died after being referred from the Haripur Trauma Centre due to lack of facilities, prompting protests from his family and local traders.

The son of a local jeweller fell from a roof and sustained serious injuries. He was immediately shifted to the trauma centre in Haripur. Due to inadequate facilities, he was referred to Abbottabad but succumbed to his injuries.

The grieving family staged a protest, questioning the government's annual expenditure on the centre.

Office-bearers of the All Traders Association told local journalists that it was unfortunate that the central health facility lacked basic services, and that people were losing loved ones due to the absence of emergency care.
