Missing teen brutally murdered in Murree

Authorities stated that the kidnapping case has now been updated to include a murder charge

RAWALPINDI:

The body of a 14-year-old boy, who went missing from Lower Dewal village in Murree, has been recovered. The boy was brutally murdered and confirmation of alleged sexual assault will be determined after the post-mortem report.

Police stated that 14-year-old Abdul Moeed was sent by his father to buy cigarettes from a shop at around 12pm on February 10, but he never returned home. After an extensive search, the family contacted police, who registered a kidnapping case at Phagwari Police Station and launched an investigation.

Police reported that on February 11, Moeed's body was recovered from a house. The boy appeared to have been killed brutally. With the assistance of Rescue 1122, his body was transferred to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Murree, where it was handed over to his family following the post-mortem.

Authorities stated that the kidnapping case has now been updated to include a murder charge. Confirmation of alleged sexual assault will depend on the post-mortem results. Police have launched a search for the unknown suspect.

National Assembly member Raja Osama Ashfaq Sarwar of the Pakistan Muslim League-N expressed deep sorrow over the killing of the innocent child. He stated that the perpetrators, regardless of political affiliation, will be brought to justice.
