PAKPATTAN:

Police claimed to have resolved the kidnapping case of a 29-year-old jeweler who had been missing for the last several days.

A close friend of the victim, who allegedly impersonated as a Pir, turned out to be the prime suspect, police claimed.

Police said that Ahsan, a 29-year-old married resident of Muhalla Basharat, ran a jewelry shop in Khawaja Aziz Makki Bazaar.

On November 7, Ahsan closed his shop and told his employee that he was going to Chowk Jamal to deliver some diamonds and rings to a customer.

Ahsan rode towards Chowk Jamal on his motorcycle while the employee went home.

Ahsan did not return home that night, and his mobile phone was switched off.

Ahsan's father reported his son’s disappearance to Pakpattan Police Station.

The police registered a case on November 11 and initiated a search.

Rescue 1122 discovered a floating body in the canal near Mohar Singh.

Rangshah Police Station shifted the body to the hospital, where the heirs identified it. Unknown persons had killed and thrown the body into the water channel.

The SHO of Police Station Saddar, Ashiq Abid Mahar, arrested two suspects and recovered Ahsan’s motorcycle, mobile phone, ring, valuables and cash.

Further investigation is underway.
