KARACHI:

A gold merchant, Fahad Muhammad Salim, foiled a robbery attempt at his home in Baldia Town on Friday.

One of the suspects turned out to be a policeman, said SHO Madina Colony Inspector Nasir Mehmood. Gul Sher was posted in the Special Protection Unit (UPS) of the police and was committing robberies too, Inspector Mehmood said

He said that four suspects had come to Salim’s house, two were in police uniform while two were in plain shalwar qameez. The culprits tried to enter his house under the pretext of forceful search. Salim, raised a hue and cry, on which the neighbours also reached the spot and surrounded the suspects. Meanwhile, a resident also informed Police Helpline15.

Seeing the crowd, the suspects made a run for it, however, the locals caught one of them. Meanwhile, a squad of Madina Colony police station also reached the spot.
