PAKPATTAN:

Police dug out body of a two-year-old boy from under the floor of a room of a house in Hasohasanka village.

DSP Malik Tariq Javed Awan, who, along with his team, had supervised the operation of digging out the body of the victim, said the child had been allegedly killed by his father. Taking notice of the incident, the DPO of Pakpattan, Tariq Wilayat, had ordered immediate arrest of the suspect who had been absconding.

In light of the orders of the DPO, police arrested the suspect within 12 hours.

The complainant, Bilal, a maternal uncle of the boy, Abdul Rahman, filed a case with the Ahmed Yar Police Station against the suspect, Rashid. Bilal stated to the police in the complaint that Rashid had had a quarrel with his wife about a month-and-a-half ago.

His wife, Maryam Bibi, left her four children with her husband and went to her brother, Bilal’s, home.

Their clan thought that it was important that the couple reconciled, and due to their mediation, the couple sorted out their differences, and Maryam Bibi returned to her husband’s house. However, she found Abdul Rehman missing.

She asked her husband where Abdul Rehman had been. Initially, Rashid made one excuse after another.

Maryam found Rashid’s behavior mysterious.

In the meantime, she noticed that someone had tampered with the floor of one of the rooms of the house.

The situation made Rashid lose his nerves, and he allegedly told Maryam that he had killed Abdul Rehman and escaped. Bilal, the child's maternal uncle, immediately reported the matter to the police.

After taking necessary action, the police shifted the body to hospital for the postmortem examination.

Rashid had married Maryam Bibi eight years ago, and they had been blessed with four children, Abdullah, Irum Fatima, Unaiza and Abdul Rehman.
