Cop collapses during training run, dies

IG Sindh requested a detailed report on the matter from the SBB Training College principal

KARACHI:

A policeman named Waqas Chachar died during training at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto (SBB) Training College in Razzakabad.

The Inspector General of Sindh, Riffat Mukhtar, has requested a detailed report on the matter from the SBB Training College principal.

Chachar was taking an elite training programme. On the scorching Friday morning, during the final running test of the training, he collapsed due to extreme heat.

Unfortunately, Razzakabad Training Centre lacked adequate provisions for emergency medical care, therefore, his colleagues rushed him to a nearby hospital via ambulance, but the officer could not survive.

Police officials currently in training have called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding Officer Chachar’s death.

However, their efforts to contact SBB Training College Razzakabad have been unsuccessful so far, as her mobile phone is continuously switched off.

While the training centre’s administration claims that Waqas Chachar died of a heart attack, further investigations are expected to shed light on the exact cause of his demise.
