A man killed in Raiwind earlier this week had been murdered by his stepson with the help of an accomplice.
Police officials said on Wednesday that the suspected murderer was enraged because the deceased had allegedly raped his stepdaughter.
The deceased, Khawar Ali Shah, had married three women.
He had been shot dead on Sunday. Investigations In-Charge Inspector Qamar Sajid said the police had launched the investigation after registration of a case while keeping in view different angles.
When the investigators looked into his personal life of the deceased, who worked as a carpenter, they came to know that they came to know that he had married trice.
The police included members of the family into the investigations.
During the investigations, it was revealed that the deceased had allegedly sexually assaulted his stepdaughter.
The prime accused, his stepson Danish, was infuriated when he came to know about the matter.
The investigators said the suspect had hatched a plan to murder his stepfather. He and his friend Tanveer Doga intercepted the victim on finding an opportunity and shot him dead. Last month, a teenage girl had shot dead her father for allegedly raping her in Gujjarpura. She had murdered her father while he was asleep.
The same day, a court in Lahore had announced death penalty for a man charged with raping his daughter. The case had been registered in Sattokatla in 2019.
Recently, a man from Kahna had killed his four children by pushing them into a canal in Kasur.
The investigations revealed that the suspect had been abusing his daughter. When her mother came to know, she resisted him and faced torture. Her children also intervened.
In October 2021, a woman had tried to set herself ablaze in a district court for lacking financial resources to fight a case against her husband who allegedly had raped her daughter. In December last year, a girl had axed her father to death in Shakargarh allegedly after he had attempted to rape her.
In 2017, Millat Park police had arrested a man on the charge of raping his teenage daughter.
A 15-year-old girl had filed a complaint with the police, that she was sleeping alone at her home where she lived with her brother and father in the Pakki Thathi area when she was assaulted.
Her father had divorced their mother eight years earlier.
She stated in her complaint that her father had woken her up and sexually assaulted her. She tried to stop him and raised hue and cry but he gagged her by stuffing his shirt into her mouth and then raped her. The man then threatened to kill her if she told anyone about her ordeal.
The girl said that she had called her mother and brother and told them about the incident. They accompanied her to the police station where she filed the complaint.
In April, a man had been sentenced to death on the charge of raping his minor daughter in Sadiqabad. An additional district and sessions judge announced the verdict against Pervaiz Shehzad, a resident of Mustafa Town. He was also fined Rs500,000.
The case had been registered with the city police station in January on the complaint of the maternal grandfather of the 13-year-old victim.
