HYDERABAD:

The Accountability Court has rejected the bail of the four sacked revenue department officials nominated in a land scam. The officials were sent back to jail till the next hearing on November 1.

These people, during their employment as mukhtiarkars, had allegedly tampered the land records in the Thana Bula Khan.

According to NAB Special Prosecutor Jango Khan, two references were filed in 2017 and 2018 against four ex-mukhtiarkars Ali Akbar Parhiar, Ghulam Hussain Imrani, Mohammad Safar Channa and Mohammad Somar Kalhoro at the Thana Bula Khan police station regarding the change of title of 1,900 acres of government land.

The accused who had illegally acquired the land had returned the government land as part of a plea bargain. After the NAB amendment, the reference was closed and they were released on the basis that if the case was revived, they would appear before the concerned court.

After the decision of the Supreme Court, these two references have also been restored and the court has sent the four former mukhtiarkars to jail.
