Heavy to moderate rain lashes twin cities

ISLAMABAD:

Moderate to heavy rain showered the federal capital, similar to other regions across the country, serving as a reminder for people to prepare for the winter season.

The rain started at approximately 4pm and persisted into the evening with intermittent breaks, resulting in a drop in temperatures and a noticeable chill in the air.

According to the PMD, dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, there may be partly cloudy conditions with light rain in isolated areas of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The synoptic situation indicates the presence of a westerly wave over the upper parts of the country, likely to persist for the next 12 to 18 hours.

In the past 24 hours, dry weather was predominant in most parts of the country, with hotter conditions prevailing in southern regions. Rainfall was reported in upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

In Islamabad, 12mms of rain was recorded at Zero Point and 02mm at Golra. In Rawalpindi, 07mms of rain was recorded at Shamsabad, 05mm at Chaklala, 01mm at Kacheri, while Murree and Jhelum recorded 01mms of rain.
