Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Vice President, Maryam Nawaz, has called upon the people of Sindh to wear Sindhi caps and Ajarak attire when they gather at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore to welcome the party's exiled leader and former Prime Minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Maryam made this request while addressing a meeting of PML-N Sindh leaders in Hala, Matiari district, via a video call on Sunday.
She assured that all necessary arrangements, including security and transportation, are being made for the event. She emphasised that people from all corners of the country are expected to converge in Lahore on October 21 to extend a warm welcome to their leader.
Subsequently, during a press conference, Bashir Memon, Sindh Welcome Committee convener and Federal Investigation Agency former chief, who recently joined the PML-N, outlined their plans.
He stated, "Our leader Nawaz Sharif has not forgotten the people of Sindh, and it is our collective duty to support him."
Memon expressed confidence that Sharif would address the economic challenges faced by both the general public and the business community.
Memon also disclosed that workers and supporters from Sindh would embark on their journey to Lahore using two specially arranged trains. Former Sindh Governor, Muhammad Zubair, emphasised the pivotal role of Sindh in national politics.
He clarified that no negotiations between the PML-N and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were underway for the formation of an electoral alliance in Sindh for the upcoming general elections.
He stated that the party would make efforts to secure a government in the province.
Nehal Hashmi, another PML-N prominent leader, pointed out that the party had previously governed Sindh and expressed confidence in its ability to form a government in the province once again.
The meeting was attended by all other provincial leaders, including Syed Muhammad Shah, Chaudhry Tariq, and Kehaldas Kohistani.
