All set for Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations

Traditional processions to be held across Pindi to mark birth of Holy Prophet (pbuh)

All the arrangements have been finalised to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal [today] to mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with religious fervour and enthusiasm.

The Rawalpindi city has been decorated beautifully to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in a befitting manner. The roads, streets and buildings in Rawalpindi district have been embellished by the faithful with colourful lights and buntings.

Several programmes have been chalked out to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) with great reverence and devotion. Different Naat committees in the city are organising Naat competitions to celebrate the 12th Rabiul Awwal. As a tradition, Milad processions would be held in all areas of the Rawalpindi Division.

Police to ensure security

The Rawalpindi police Thursday devised a comprehensive plan to ensure security on 12th Rabiul Awwal. The police have issued a foolproof security plan for Eid Miladun Nabi (pbuh), a police spokesperson said.

He said under the security plan, more than 6,000 cops and police officers would be deployed to ensure the security of Milad processions.

A total of 137 Milad processions would be taken out in Rawalpindi district on 12th Rabiul Awwal, he said adding, the police would utilise all available resources to provide foolproof security to the processions.

The police personnel would also be assisted by traffic wardens, Muhafiz Force, Punjab Constabulary, Elite Force, Special Branch, ladies police and volunteers to ensure security.

The Main Milad procession of Rawalpindi city would be provided foolproof security cover while over 3,000 cops would be deployed on the route of the procession. Walk-through gates would be installed at entry points of the main procession while body searches of the participants would also be conducted.

Traffic plan

Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) had also devised a comprehensive traffic plan to maintain traffic flow on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (pbuh).

According to a CTP spokesperson, two main processions would be taken out. The first procession would start from Jamia Masjid Hanafia Jamia Masjid Road at 10am which would pass through different routes of the city including Pul Shah Nazar, Bani Chowk, Murree Road, Committee Chowk, Liaquat Road, Fawara Chowk, passing through Dungi Khoi and would return to the starting point.
