Bibi, 40, was returning from a nearby village after buying milk when unknown men allegedly intercepted her in the area

ISLAMABAD:
A midwife was strangled to death in the Pind Paracha area on Thursday. The police sources said that Safia Bibi, 40, was returning from a nearby village after buying milk when unknown men allegedly intercepted her in the area, before killing her and fleeing. The incident came to light when a passerby spotted the body and informed the police, who reached the spot and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) where doctors kept her body in the morgue due to Eid holidays. She was living with her father, Muhammad Din, in Pind Paracha.  Earlier, although local women invited her for iftari, she declined and headed back home. Safia was working as midwife in the area and local residents held her in great respect.
