March 02, 2024

Practicing facial exercises as part of your yoga routine can help promote healthy and supple skin by increasing blood circulation, toning the muscles and reducing tension in the face. Here are five yoga facial exercises you can incorporate into your skincare routine:

Lion’s Pose (Simhasana):

1.Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight and hands resting on your knees.

2.Inhale deeply through your nose.

3.As you exhale, open your mouth wide, sticking your tongue out and downward.

4.Roar like a lion by exhaling forcefully and making a “ha” sound.

Repeat this exercise three to five times, taking deep breaths in between each round.

Cheek Lifts:

1.Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.

2.Take a deep breath in through your nose.

3.As you exhale, smile as wide as possible while keeping your lips closed.

4.Lift your cheeks toward your eyes and hold the smile for a few seconds.

5.Relax your face and repeat the exercise five to ten times.

Eye Focus:

1.Sit comfortably with your eyes open.

2.Focus your gaze on a specific point directly in front of you.

3.Slowly move your gaze to the right, then to the left, and back to center.

4.Repeat this movement several times, then switch to an up-and-down movement, and finally, a diagonal movement.

5.Blink your eyes a few times to relax and repeat the exercise in the

opposite direction.

Forehead Smoothing:

1.Place your fingertips horizontally on your forehead.

2.Apply gentle pressure and slowly slide your fingertips outward

toward your temples.

3.Repeat this movement several times, focusing on smoothing out any lines or wrinkles on your forehead.

4.Take deep breaths as you perform this exercise to promote relaxation.

Jaw Release:

1.Sit comfortably with your spine straight.

2.Relax your jaw and let it hang open.

3.Inhale deeply through your nose, and as you exhale, make a gentle “ha” sound while closing your mouth.

4.Repeat this exercise several times, allowing your jaw muscles to relax and release tension.

You must remember to always perform these exercises gently and without strain. Consistency is key, so aim to incorporate these facial exercises into your routine at least a few times per week to experience the benefits over time. Additionally, combining these exercises with a healthy lifestyle, proper hydration, and a balanced diet can further enhance the health and suppleness of your skin.
