Meeting also concluded with the decision to reinstate the student unions at the QAU committee

ISLAMABAD:

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa Friday directed the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) administration to correspond with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to obtain alternative land equal to the one used in the Bharakahu Bypass project. He participated in the meeting of the QAU Syndicate as a member.

In addition to the CJP, representatives from the Federal Ministry of Education and HEC were also in attendance at the syndicate meeting led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed. Syndicate members requested the chief justice's cooperation to clear over 500 acres of land held by encroachers. In response, the chief justice assured them of complying with the Islamabad High Court's orders.

According to sources, the meeting also concluded with the decision to reinstate the student unions at the QAU. A committee led by Federal Secretary of Education Wasim Ajmal was formed to draft the rules and regulations for the student unions.

Furthermore, CJP Justice Qazi Faez Isa expressed discontent with the presence of armed police, rangers, and security personnel on campus and urged that the university should remain free from weapons and narcotics.
