DIJKOT:

The body of a factory worker, who had been missing for three days, was discovered on the rooftop of the mill where he was employed.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Rizwan Aslam, had allegedly been tortured and killed by unidentified assailants.

The police shifted the body to a hospital for further examination. Rizwan leaves behind a one-and-a-half-year-old child.

Rizwan, a resident of Mohalla Rehmatabad, had been employed at the Crescent Textile Mill, located within the jurisdiction of the Sargodha Road Police Station.

On September 16, he had left for his work at 2 o'clock in the afternoon but never returned home.

Growing increasingly concerned about his absence, his family reported him missing to the police.

Their efforts to locate him had been in vain until this grim discovery. Police said the assailants had taken Rizwan to the rooftop of the mill's dyeing shed, where they brutally assaulted him, leading to his tragic demise.

It was only on a Tuesday evening, three days later, that an air conditioning repair mechanic, while working on the premises, stumbled upon Rizwan's lifeless body.

He immediately reported the shocking find to the mill's management, prompting them to alert the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, a police team led by SHO Sargodha Road Sub-Inspector Basharat Ali Awan, rushed to the scene.

Taking custody of the body, they transported it to Allied Hospital for a thorough post-mortem examination.

Simultaneously, a formal investigation was initiated, with authorities focusing on reviewing the CCTV camera footage installed within the mill premises to identify the assailants. According to SHO Sargodha Road, Basharat Ali, Rizwan had commenced his shift on September 16, working in the dyeing department from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, but had not returned home as expected. His family had subsequently reported him missing to the police.
