Women flock markets ahead of Eid
.

Eid shopping is picking up momentum in the twin cities and across the country as large numbers of women flock to markets and shopping centres to buy clothes, shoes, jewellery, and cosmetics ahead of Eidul Fitr.
Reports from commercial hubs in Rawalpindi, including Moti Bazaar, Raja Bazar, Tench Bhatta, and Saddar, indicate an unusually heavy rush of shoppers. Women were seen purchasing Eid dresses, bangles, mehndi, and other festive accessories as preparations for the religious festival gather pace.
Shopkeepers said customer footfall usually rises significantly after mid-Ramazan, with women showing keen interest in both traditional and modern fashion outfits. This season, sparkling khussas, kaftan-style dresses, and glass bangles are emerging as popular trends, attracting large numbers of buyers.
Meanwhile, special discounts offered by brands on International Women's Day have also drawn women to shopping malls and commercial centres, further increasing the crowd.
Citizens said Eid shopping is an integral part of the festivities, adding that markets become even more vibrant as Chand Raat approaches, with women visiting bazaars late into the night for mehndi and last-minute purchases.
