Unveiling Versace’s Resort 2024 Collection

Versace’s Resort 2024 Collection was a mesmerising spectacle. Models strutted down the runway, located on a sandy, ocean-side bluff with an infinity pool at its centre. Dressed in captivating petal pink ensembles, they sent ripples through the crystal blue water as they walked, exuding a fierce and flamboyant aura. Their Barbie-inspired hairstyles added a dramatic touch to the looks.

In collaboration with Dua Lipa, Donatella Versace reinvented the Y2K cult codes to suit the current fashion trends. The collection featured second-skin capris paired with bra tops and cropped jackets, as well as tiny skirts and dresses adorned with butterfly motifs, symbolizing freedom and happiness according to Donatella. A striking black polka-dotted outfit, comprising skin-tight capris and a baggy cropped jacket, exuded both toughness and a fun, flirty vibe, suitable for day or night wear.

Among the beachwear pieces were terry cotton garments embellished with raised “Versace” logos, while skillfully tailored clothing draped over shimmering swimwear and barely-there bralettes. For those nostalgic for the past, the collection paid homage to Versace’s spring/summer 1995 line, featuring slinky metal-mesh miniskirts and gold Versace-motif body chains, accentuated by the iconic Butterfly and Ladybugs print reimagined in a butterfly and polka-dot pattern that merged two archival prints.

Dua Lipa’s favourite look was the waistcoat dress, a flattering and stylish outfit paired with heeled cowboy boots, the Versace Greca Goddess mini bag, and opulent renditions of Versace’s signature Medusa and Greca jewellery adorned with hand-painted or crystal butterflies and ladybugs.

Immediately after the show, the collection, titled “La Vacanza,” became available for purchase at Versace boutiques and on their official website, embracing the see-now-buy-now approach. This marked the first time the house had collaborated with an external designer in such a manner.

Overall, the Versace Resort 2024 Collection flashed a vibrant array of colours, fun prints, and airy silhouettes, making it the perfect selection for a stylish and lively summer wardrobe.
