KARACHI:

Sindh Assembly Speaker, Agha Siraj Durrani, has submitted a letter to the Chief Secretary of Sindh, urging the closure of an ongoing inquiry against the Sindh Assembly Additional Secretary, Habib Samejo, and several others.

In the letter issued by the Speaker, it is emphasised that the anti-corruption inquiry targeting Deputy Secretary Tariq Hussain Mehr and Assistant Secretary Munawar Ali Rahu should be terminated.

Currently, a departmental investigation is already in progress concerning the mentioned officers.

The investigation by the Anti-Corruption Establishment revolves around allegations of corruption in the honorarium payments made to Sindh Assembly employees.

The Accountant General's Office in Sindh had transferred these funds to the employees' accounts, notifying them via email about the honorarium.
